Marcam Engineering and Materialise’s Munich Office Merge to Form Materialise GmbH

Bremen, Germany – April 08, 2014 – In April 2011, Materialise announced their acquisition of Marcam Engineering and today marks the next step in that process – the official merging of Marcam Engineering GmbH with Materialise’s Munich office to form Materialise GmbH. The newly formed Materialise GmbH will be headquartered in Munich, with Marcam Engineering’s Bremen location serving as a branch office. This merger shows Materialise’s clear commitment to the German market by tripling the number of employees and further equipping both offices to even better serve the Additive Manufacturing industry and the needs of Materialise’s customers in the region.

Materialise GmbH will be under the joint leadership of Johan Pauwels, who also serves as Executive Vice President of Materialise, and Marcus Joppe, former General Manager of Marcam Engineering. Working with them are 40 skilled employees who are ready to serve Materialise’s German-speaking customers and partners.

Marcus Joppe had this to say about the merger, “Marcam Engineering has been a proud member of the Materialise Group since 2011 and we are pleased to now be taking this successful partnership to the next level. With this merger, we in the Bremen office look forward to bringing additional competencies to Materialise Germany, especially in regards to metal Additive Manufacturing (AM), machine control, and software development.”

Johan Pauwels added that, “By merging the strengths of the Munich office with the research projects and ties the Bremen office has with industrial and scientific networks, as well as notable research institutes, Materialise GmbH is in a great position to help partners and customers in the region achieve great things with AM.”
