Design Flanders Honors Materialise with the Prestigious Henry van de Velde Company Award

Leuven, Belgium – January 14, 2016.  During an illustrious awards ceremony at the BOZAR, the Center for Fine Arts in Brussels, Materialise was yesterday named the 2015 recipient of the Henry van de Velde Company Award. Accepting the award on behalf of Materialise was Founder and CEO, Wilfried Vancraen. Design Flanders has been presenting the Henry van de Velde Awards since 1994, with the award serving to confirm the high quality of the work produced and encouraging prize winners to continue to tread the path of experimentation and inventiveness in the creative sectors.

As the 2015 recipient of the Henry van de Velde Company Award, Materialise is also participating in the accompanying exhibition at the BOZAR. Contributions to the exhibition from Materialise include the Cabrio Eyewear Collection from Hoet Design Studio, Arne Pauwels’ Wakati project, the Trimble UX5 Drones from Trimble UAS (formerly Gatewing) and Phits insoles from RS Print. The Henry van de Velde Awards & Labels 2015 exhibition runs from January 14 to March 24, 2016 and admission is free.

The 2015 award recipients also included the iconic designer Paul Verhaert for the Henry van de Velde Career Award, and the design and innovation studio, Made, for the Henry van de Velde Young Talent Award.
